E-Book - DIY Shoes - How to Make Classic Flats
Anyone who's ever gone shoe shopping and found the perfect shoe that didn't fit or the perfect fit in an ugly shoe knows how great it would be to make their own. So I worked out a way to do it, then I wrote it all down so you can make your own shoes, too. Click the link below the picture for all the details!
The e-book is 27 pages long and walks you through the process step by step with about 70 photos. It's based on finding a pair of flats that you like the fit of, then taking them apart and making a pattern from them. If you'd rather, you can skip the taking apart step and just buy a pre-made pattern. A pattern with whole sizes 6-11 will be available by the end of October. You can pre-order it now and it will be emailed to you as soon as the last bits of fine-tuning are done!
The method doesn't require a last (shoe making form) and if you have basic instruction following experience you should be able to make it work. The only supply that you need that you can't find at a craft or home improvement store is the shoe rubber. The book explains where to get sheets of shoe rubber and offers alternatives that are available most places, just in case.
If you have dreamed of designing your own shoes, want to make shoes to match other things, or have a quirk like two different sizes of feet this book is for you!
I've been working on this shoe making project for a long time - this is the first in a series of books. It's definitely the easiest way to make shoes, and serves as a great basis for other styles. I've been wearing shoes that I made with this method full time so I'm sure it works. I will be following this up with additional pattern manipulations for different styles of flats and (of course!) high heels.
