Pattern:

Five Cable Knits

This post may contain affiliate links - read the disclaimer.

Cables are the perfect way to add a classic touch to whatever you’re knitting. This free pattern set includes 5 versatile cable patterns that you can add to all kinds of knitting projects!

If you’re not sure how to knit cables I posted a handy photo tutorial recently, click here to check it out.

Most cables knit up narrower than the same number of stitches in a stockinette or other patterns. Make sure you take this into account if you’re adding cables to an existing pattern (like modifying a sweater or cardigan.) On the reverse of all patterns you simply knit the knits and purl the purls. The panel shown has gaps of 4 rows of stockinette between the cables. There’s a link to download this project at the bottom of the post.
