Horizontal Eyelet Lace Knitting Pattern

This is a great pattern for transitional sweaters for fall and spring. Warm – but not too hot – on sweater weather days. It usually knits up very closely to the same gauge as plain stockinette so it can swapped in on sweater patterns that are designed for stockinette (check your gauge to be sure!) The repeat is only 2 stitches wide.

Do be aware that this pattern can skew horizontally a little bit.

This sample is knit in a medium weight cotton yarn.

Horizontal Eyelet Lace
Multiple of 2 Stitches

Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Yarn over to make 1, Purl 2 together

You’ll probably want to add a selvage stitch or two at each edge, but that’s it. Three rows of mindless knitting and a row of make 1, purl 2 together.
