This pretty pattern is a great way to upgrade the ribbing on a knitting project. By adding rows of lace in the ‘knit’ part on the right side of the pattern you make an otherwise functional part of a sweater or other project a lot more interesting. The pattern is only two rows long so it memorizes quickly.
This photo shows the pattern pulled horizontally so it’s easier to see where the purl lines are.
Multiple of 8 stitches + 6
Row 1 (right side): *k3, yo, slip 1, k1, psso, k1, p2* repeat until last 6 stitches, then k3, yo, slip 1, k1, psso, k1
Row 2: *p3, yo, purl 2 together, p1, k2* repeat until last 6 stitches, then p3, yo, purl 2 together, p1
Work rows 1 and 2 until you’ve reached your desired length.
